Yuji Katsui: violin
Mariko Goto: vocals

Rest, practice and reading in the morning.

Shimokitazawa 440 is one of my favorite venues in Japan, wonderful sound operated by engineer Michiru Tawa. Here I played memorable concerts, the first one I remember was a trio with Yuji Katsui and Seiichi Yamamoto. I still consider releasing the recording of that performance someday. So great!

Goto Mariko is a superb singer, unpredictable...so much fun to play with!!!

Here's a video of U-Zhaan, tablas virtuoso, playing in this video with the amazing Rei Harakami. (Rei died 2 years ago. I cannot believe this still)

Yuji Katsui and I have been playing together every couple of years since we first met playing with Juana Molina in Tokyo around 2022. We played together in Japan, USA and Argentina.

Here's a photo of Rovo master Yuji from Smashingmag.com

I'm so glad to be back in Japan, playing in this wonderful venues with such great musicians.

Tokyo, Pit Inn, June 3 2013

After a year I'm back in the gigster's journals

I left Buenos Aires on May 18h. Travelled with Luciano Pietrafesa to the USA for another amazing adventure:

Robert Fripp & The Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists

we rehearsed near Boston for almost a week and we played 3 concerts:

Boston, Hadley and New York

about 65 acoustic guitars improvising, whizzing, walking in procession, self organizing in small groups, jumping, circulating... lots of fun and action and sometimes unique amazing music

after the NY concert I stayed in NY for a few days, resting, preparing for my upcoming tour

I may post more on these days later, but now it's time to begin the Kabusacki Japan Tour 2013 Journal!

June 1 arrived in Tokyo. Kaz and Koki were waiting for me. so happy to see them!!!!!!!!
june 2 Ochanomizu guitar shops. bought a beautiful Tokai Les Paul and a pedalboard

Organizing my pedals...

ready to go...

June 3...the first concert,

Kabusacki (electric guitar), Uchihashi Kazuhisa (electric guitar and daxophone) and Yasuhiro Yoshigaki (drums) at Tokyo Pit Inn

I've known Uchi for many years, the first time I played with Altered States in Osaka I was blown away!!!!! since then we played together again many times in Japan, Argentina and also in Vienna. incredible guitarist!!!!! I have no idea how he produces the sounds he makes...amazing. he also plays daxophone in my album The Flower and The Radio.

Yasuhiro Yoshigaki is one of the best drummers in the world. by far one of my very favorites. we also shared many adventures together...even some records! like Kirie and Live at Kinema Club Tokyo...

The Pit Inn is a legendary club in Tokyo, I'm very honored to play here with these wonderful musicians and friends!

Kabusacki & Luck. Teatro La Comedia, Rosario

I played through a beautiful Fender amp both at the rehearsal studio and the show...

Interviews at Diario La Capital, Rosario 12, El Ciudadano and Rosario Rock.

Travelled to Rosario on Friday, with this sticker on the car's back window...

Interview for Radio Clash at Rock and Pop FM in the afternoon and a few phone interviews for local newspapers...

Saturday: more phone interviews...and an interview with Mr Pablo Feldman at the island. So we crossed the Parana river on a fast boat. Horses, cows, roosters, chicken, pigs...great atmosphere! Wonderful day. After my interview, Mr. Rocambole came for an interview so we sailed back together to Rosario.

Lunch at Rincon Hispano with Pablo, Matias and Barbara. Waited too long...

Short nap, soundcheck, showtime.

La Comedia is a wonderful theater!!!!!! here I saw Seru Giran and Billy Preston play many years ago...among many others...and here I played with Robert Fripp & The League of Crafty Guitarists in 2007.

The lineup:
Kabusacki: electric and synth guitars
Barbara Togander: vocals and electronics
Cesar Franov: bass and electronic
Mariano Suarez: trumpet and flugelhorn
Matias Mango: keyboards and piano
Pablo Dawidowicz: drums and percussion

(pic: M. Turin)

Wonderful Land (The Shadows)
Jazz Bb
Suerte!
The Whip
Voices of Ancient Chidren
Cinco Sirenitas
20 Trajes Verdes (Charly Garcia)

and several improvs

Great to see several old time friends in the audience.

The theater's back door...

Dinner with the team at El Cairo, walked by wonderful old buildings. Architecture!

Lunch at the Rodriguez Jauregui's (nice to see Maria and Caloi too)

Back to Buenos Aires on a comfortable bus, listening to Dylan.
